開催迫る！1.22横浜アリーナ大会へ参戦のスティング&ダービーアリンインタビュー！
目前に迫ってきた1月22日（日）「ABEMA presents GREAT MUTA FINAL " BYE-BYE"」横浜アリーナ大会にて、グレート・ムタのパートナーとなるスティング、ダービー・アリンにインタビューを行った。ムタのラストマッチとなるこの試合に向け、二人のスーパースターは何を感じているのだろうか。
【スティング選手インタビュー】
——スティング選手は久々の来日となります。
スティング選手
「日本に来るのは久しぶりで、日本に来ることができなかった期間は寂しかったです。日本のファンの前で試合をするのはとても楽しみにしています」
——スティング選手が日本のリングに初めて上がった時から約30年近くが経ちました。先日のNOAHのビデオインタビュー（https://youtu.be/ZiSkZ0s63nw）では、グレート・ムタの引退について、全ての世代のファンにとって意味があるとおっしゃっていました。
スティング選手
「ダービーと私がムタの引退試合にもたらすものが大きいことを自覚していますし、若いファンにとっても昔からのファンにとっても私たちがこの試合に出場することは満足してもらっていると思います」
——またそのインタビューでは、この試合のスティング選手、ダービー・アリン選手にファンの皆さんは驚く、と確信していました。それはご自身はもちろん、スティング選手がダービー・アリン選手に対して信頼しているという事でもあると思います。
スティング選手
「そうですね。ファンの皆さんにとっては決して忘れられない夜を提供できるでしょう」
——対戦相手は白使選手、AKIRA選手、丸藤正道選手に決定致しましたが、相手の印象などはありますでしょうか。
スティング選手
「私は彼らのことをまだよく知りません。ただ私はその白使選手、AKIRA選手、丸藤選手に勝つために全精力を注ぐつもりです。そしていつも私を限界まで追い込んだムタの能力を信じているからこそ、この戦いに勝つ自信があります」

【ダービー・アリン選手インタビュー】
——今回の対戦相手の一人の丸藤正道選手とは以前お会いしたことがあるとのことでした。
ダービー・アリン選手
「彼は昔、ミズーリ州で開催されたハーリー・レイス トレーニングキャンプに参加していて、私も参加していました。当時の私はもっと若く黒髪でしたね。その時、私をNOAHに選ばなかったことを今回復讐するつもりです（笑）」
——1月22日の横浜アリーナでグレート・ムタとタッグを結成しますが、どういった印象がありますでしょうか。
ダービー・アリン選手
「伝説ですね。グレート・ムタとタッグを組むことができるのは本当に興奮しますし、誇らしいです」
——では最後に、今回初来日となりますがファンの皆さんにはどのような試合を見せたいですか。
「It's gonna be badass.」

アメリカはAEWのマットで最前線で活躍するスティングとダービー・アリン。スティングは日本でも説明不要の大物でありムタのライバルにして盟友。一方のダービー・アリンはそのスティングが認める、いわば後継者である。この両選手とグレート・ムタが夢のタッグを結成した時、横浜アリーナでは本当に魔界に別れを告げることになるのだろうか。最後のリングかもしれないが、存在が消えてしまうわけでもないはず。ムタの紡ぐ物語は、この試合の後に何を見せてくれるのだろうか。
INTERVIEW: STING & DARBY ALLIN
Ahead of Great Muta’s last match on January 22 in Yokohama, Pro Wrestling NOAH interviewed Muta’s tag partners, AEW’s Darby Allin and the legend, Sting.
STING
On wrestling in front of a new generation of fans
“It’s been a long time since I’ve been to Japan and I’m missing everyone [fans].”
It has been close to three decades since Sting has wrestled in Japan. The AEW wrestler we see now has evolved so much since then. During a recent interview with Pro Wrestling NOAH, he explained why his return would be meaningful for fans of all generations.
“I think fans young & old will be very happy with what we’re bringing to Muta’s match.”
Sting was confident that even younger fans of NOAH would be amazed by what his team will do in Yokohama on January 22. It was also the reason he wanted to bring along his junior, Darby Allin, because of the confidence he has in him.
“I know that we are going to give the fans a night they will never forget.”
On his opponents at #byebyeMUTA
“I’m not familiar with them—yet.” Sting plans to focus all of his energy on Marufuji, AKIRA, and Hakushi in Yokohama, but it’s his faith in Muta’s ability that keeps him so confident. “What’s special about Muta is that always pushed me to my limit.”
DARBY ALLIN
Darby Allin saw “The Genius”
It was 2016 in Missouri when Darby Allin first encountered Naomichi Marufuji.
“He was at the [Harley Race Training] camp!”
Allin couldn’t help but laugh at such a coincidence. A younger, darker-haired Allin actually attended the 2016 Harley Race Training Camp in Missouri, which was then being led by “The Genius of the Ark,” Naomichi Marufuji.
“I’m gonna get revenge on him for not picking me!” Allin said, laughing.
On January 22 at Yokohama Arena, Allin will once again stand across from “The Genius of the Ark.”
Allin’s thoughts about Great Muta
Many know Allin for his calm, quiet manner outside of the ring, but during the interview with NOAH, his excitement for and pride to be teaming with Great Muta was clear, calling him “the legend.”
What kind of impression does he want to make on Japanese fans?
Allin added that he wanted to make a lasting impression on NOAH’s fans on January 22. “It’s gonna be badass.”
The enigma from Seattle will definitely have his skateboard with him at Yokohama Arena alongside Sting and the Great Muta on January 22.
